Public Policy Strategist

Public Policy Strategist Josh Barber brings his experience in Washington DC’s solar policy arena back to Binghamton, where he also attended BU. He offers analysis on the political, regulatory, and legal climate surrounding solar projects in the region. He is also heading up the Solarize BU effort on Binghamton University’s campus.

Solarize Campaign Manager, Internship Supervisor

Kerensa Crump, a Vestal High School and Binghamton University grad, is the Project Development Coordinator. She works to analyze marketing, outreach, and campaign strategies while coordinating the talents of our team to meet our deliverables. She also supervises our internship program where she develops projects in solar art and education.

Evan Bixby

Evan Bixby

Community Solar Project Manager

Evan Bixby, a Johnson City native, is our Energy Research Analyst after a term as a lead intern. Evan has technical knowledge from his physics and renewable energy systems background from his studies at Cortland State. He combines this with a strong interest in policy to take point on our Community Shared Solar Program while strategizing for the broader Solarize Campaign.

Michael Treiman

Michael Treiman

Associate Director

Current Binghamton University MPA graduate Michael Treiman is our Associate Director. Part administrative and finance officer, part head of marketing, Michael is integral to the operation and expansion of this nonprofit. He utilizes his extensive community connections to expand our reach and produce new ventures to launch solar.

Adam Flint

Adam Flint

Program Manager

Adam Flint currently serves as Southern Tier (NY) Solar Works Program Manager for the Binghamton Regional Sustainability Coalition, which he co-founded in 2008. From 2011-2013 he ran the Energy Leadership Program at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County, where Adam also coordinated the Southern Tier Regional Green Jobs Green New York Outreach effort which led the state in home audits and retrofits.
He has worked as an educator in the Southern Tier for more than twenty years, including more than a decade in higher education, serving on the faculty as Assistant Professor of Sociology at Hartwick College and as a lecturer in Environmental Studies at Binghamton University. Adam is a founding member of the NY Energy Democracy Alliance, currently serving on the steering committee. He works on NY State energy policy, particularly in relation to the ‘Reforming the Energy Vision (REV)’ and related proceedings, and coordinates COSHARE, the Community Owned Shared Renewables Group on behalf of the Alliance. He is also a founding member of the Tier Energy Network of the Southern Tier.
