Commercial Solar Offerings

For our 2017 campaign, we are refocusing our Solarize program on commercial and non-profit properties. We are leveraging the successful passage of CPACE, the energy efficiency and solar financing tool offered by Broome County, with a concerted effort to bring energy independence to the Southern Tier with the help of our three commercial solar installer partners: ETM Solar Works, Taitem Engineering, and Solar by CIR. Solar by CIR specializes in large commercial installation over 200kW for the purposes of our campaign while ETM and Taitem are below 200kW. All are equipped to develop a customized solar system for your property including a ballasted system, roof mounted, ground mounted, as well as off-site systems.

Learn more about the specialization of each installer below and check out their websites for more information. Sign up for a commercial solar site assessment to determine the viability of solar for your property. Below 200kW assessments are at no cost to you.

ETM Solar Works started out doing aerospace consulting work (ETM is short for Extraterrestrial Materials). Their main claim to fame in space business was the conceptual design of the Lunar Prospector, a small robotic spacecraft that orbited the Moon in 1998-99. In 1993 they decided to go into the “terrestrial” solar energy business. Since then, they have installed over a 2 megawatts of photovoltaics in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Commercial PACE Financing sponsored by Broome County

The Energize NY Commercial Program helps commercial properties make energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades to buildings. Through financing called Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE), a property owner opts to pay for energy improvements by authorizing the municipality where the property is located to add a special tax charge to the property for that purpose.

The Energy Improvement Corporation (EIC) offers Energize NY Finance to eligible Property Owners in order to provide attractive financing for property improvements that lower energy consumption. EIC is a local development corporation and a New York State nonprofit established specifically to assist municipalities and Property Owners achieve long-term energy savings and/or generate renewable power for use on site.
